Effective communication requires strategic planning. In Setting up a Strategic Communication Plan, the authors offer a six-stage framework for analysing communication problems and making decisions about objectives and strategies.
Special attention is paid to the cyclical character of a communication plan. Because all the stages are interconnected and each subsequent stage influences the outcome of the previous stage, it is vital to maintain an overview of the entire process when creating a plan. A communication policy is never made alone, and this book covers the collaboration between the client and the communication expert at every stage. Using this systematic approach, review periods will be built in to help ensure that one remains on the right track and to prevent misunderstandings with the client.
The method described has been field-tested and can be used in all areas of communication. To illustrate the method, two case studies have been included. This book is written for students in higher education and is also a handy reference work for those already employed in the communication field.
Doelgroep
The method presented in this book can be utilised for all types of communication specialisation.
